Melissa Sue Anderson was my favorite actress during the late 1970's and 1980's. I had a major crush on her when she was on Little House on the Prairie during the 1970's. We are both the same age. I think we were both shy and quiet. I don't personally know her, but that was my impression of her from articles. I joined her fan club in the late 1970's and received some nice thank you notes when I sent her some bells as presents. Today, Melissa is married to Michael Sloan and has two children. She is semi-retired and lives in Montreal. She has spent most of her time raising her children. Melissa is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada. There are some recent articles posted on this site that describe her views on her semi-retirement. Also, the video clip from eTalk Daily is in the Filmography section. There are video clips and video captures from many of her TV and movie appearances in the Filmography section. I hope you enjoy this website. Please e-mail me with any comments or questions to Mike or my Facebook or MySpace page. Also, you can sign my guestbook. |
I was able to attend Melissa's two booksignings in Colorado on May 24th and May 25th. I met with Melissa for 30 minutes before the booksigning on May 24. I think we were both a little shy at the beginning, but we became more comfortable with each other. I showed her my fan club membership card from the late 1970's which she enjoyed (she took a picture for her husband). I also gave her a compilation of her TV and audio interviews for a memento of her book tour. I had a great time meeting her and she exceeded all my expectations. She is a beautiful, intelligent, wonderful woman and I look forward to more of her work in the future. I have shot some video of both booksignings. I didn't have a tripod, so don't expect professional quality video.Melissa's Presentation and Q&A at Barnes and Noble in Lakewood, Colorado on May 24, 2010.Melissa signing books at Barnes and Noble in Lakewood, Colorado on May 24, 2010.Melissa's presentation and Q&A at The Tattered Cover in Highlands Ranch, Colorado on May 25, 2010.

Melissa wrote a letter to Le Lycée Français de L.A. on April 23, 2009 thanking them for providing an education to her children. She also includes an essay that Piper wrote for entrance to one of the colleges that she applied to. I can tell that Melissa is very proud of Piper and her accomplishments. Congratulations Piper!
